Kindness in the Circus Community23/07/2019
Kindness in the circus community is such an amazing thing. Words can not express the sense of community, friendship and belonging that I have experienced.
Yes I always knew it was there as at lessons, we always have a natter about what we have been up to and support each other where needed. This is in addition to the practical support of showing people new moves, spotting and giving morale support on the scary moves.
At the circus jam a couple of weekends ago, people were happy to help, give tips and advice. I’d never met any of them before but everyone was so friendly.
Why am I writing this post? Well, at the weekend I was updating the blog posts and saw that someone had left a comment on a blog. It made me realise that I had high expectations of myself, we all have different skills and at the end of the day I am only human.
Someone had taken their time to write a positive comment on an almost anonymous blog but it made my day. Not only that the blog was commented on, but also read but yes, I am human and I’m doing ok. So thank you!
I have been to lots of workshops, jams, events and performances and always had a lot of fun. Most people are in it for the love of circus and want to share that with others. Best of all is having a giggle, doing floor aerial and all the crazy mishaps we have.
(Random kindness in the circus community meme I made using Wordswag.) Yep, I am a bad shot and would likely hit a face by accident.
